The only instruments that need to be TSOd are your transponder, encoder, and ADS-B unit. While many mechanics are loathe to install non-TSO instruments, you must remember that the Ercoupe was certified pre-FARs and are grandfathered. A quick call to Lynn Nelsen in Florida May be in order. He knows his stuff.

Anyone have any experience installing anything but vacuum driven gauges? I'm toying with putting a Garmin G5 in my 415C since the electric attitude instrument went TU. A Garmin G5 or Dynon D10a. Trouble is, the less expensive experimental/LSA version of each cannot be legally installed in our Part 23 aircraft without an STC field approval and that can get expensive. Just wondering if anyone has any experience?

Thanks,
Chris
