Hey Bruce thanks for the additional info.
I had been doing that little by little and found that it worked just like that.
Thanks again.

To bleed the Goodyear brake I had someone pump
and hold the brake pedal while I loosened the bleed
screw a bit then retightened it. Fluid and air leak out.
Brake pedal is released after screw is tight. Repeat
process until only fluid leaks out. Top off the brake
reservoir as needed during the bleeding. Repeat for
the other brake. Process is messy but does work.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Vacation. -Bruce.

bleeding Goodyear brakes was created by Bruce Bennett
Replaced Scott master cylinder with Alpha Aviation
STC'd replacement. I've bled motorcycle brakes but
am having problems bleeding this Goodyear system.
Modern brakes have a bleed valve. Goodyear uses a
small bolt in a threaded hole. Ercoupe Service Manual
says to replace bleeder screw with a bleeder hose.
I see no way to attach a hose except to stick one into
the threaded hole. Removing the hose to reinstall the
bleeder screw after bleeding is (hopefully) finished
lets the brake fluid out and air back in until the screw
is reinserted resulting in no or poor brakes.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
