No these were put on by people not familiar with Ercoupe maintenance that do not have the required manuals. I see Roy attached a link to the proper SB. All owners need the maintenance manual and the SB book.

Refer to paragraph 13 of ESM 35. It explains the aileron trim procedure. it involves a pair of pliers.

Kevin, I have seen four or five inch long x two inch or so wide flat pieces of metal attached to the trailing edge of ailerons and horizontal stabilizers. Are these to assist with trim or rigging? Is that what you mean by 'tweaking?'

I have seen them and they look silly because they are not necessary. The ailerons are trimmed by tweaking the trailing edge.
