N99340 For Sale was created by Larry Snyder
From the January Coupe Capers (please communicate via email!):
For Sale – 1946 Ercoupe 415C, N99340, S/N 1963. I’ve been the proud owner for 20 years, but I’m slowing down more than the airplane so I’m hoping someone will buy it who will fly it a lot. Engine overhauled in 2006, upgraded to a C-85 with the O-200 crank STC. It now has 1700 hours on it, but oil pressure is excellent (25-50 at idle), oil consumption is 1 quart every 10+ hours, compressions all 78 except for one at 76. Just flew to Virginia and back last October, nearly 17 hours. Oil changed every 25 hours, even with the oil filter added during the 2006 rebuild. Plane Power alternator. Alon style straight pipes. Radio is a Garmin SL40, connected to an aera 660 GPS in an AirGizmos dock. GPS preloads waypoint frequencies into the radio. ADS-B in data provided by a Garmin GDL-39 mounted between the two rear windows. ADS-B out via a uAvionix tailBeacon. Interior is not flashy, an AirTex seat and carpet installed in 2005. Carpet wore out and was replaced last year. Large baggage compartment is bare aluminum with a bit of carpet on the plywood floor. Dual fork nose gear. Four point shoulder harnesses. Control mast rebuilt in 2010. Wings recovered and new cowl installed in 2013. It has been at every EOC Convention since 2007 with the exception of 2021 and 2022, when I was very ill. Cowl tank is 5 gallon riveted, even though the airplane has an approved 337 for installing the 6 gallon welded aluminum tank. The welded tank kept cracking, the riveted tank has been great for 15 years. I have logged 1,872 hours in this airplane over 20 years. I’ve visited more than 250 airports in 30+ states. I would take it anywhere today. $29,000. Please email with questions - Larry Snyder – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
