Carb heat spring

I had that problem with my Alon's too. My fix was to use an alligator clip on it. Pull on heat to were I wanted it and clip there.

If you still have your old pieces, check Ace Hardware. Locally they have a good assortment of springs that may result in a "kissing cousin" replacement - even with judicious modification as required to shorten, etc. Also, remember Vincent Gregory, now Skyport, etc. ad under classified this page.

The carburetor heat spring broke on my 415 C. I got a replacement that was closed at the hardware store until I could order up one from univair. What they sent me was too short and too strong, carburetor heat closes itself during descent. Univair response to my complaint was "that's all we have". Has anybody else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it? Thanks
