Yes, the answer is yes it’s the dye that has to be FAA approved. Now to find a leather source.

If going with leather does it need a burn cert? Leather is leather aside from which tanning and what dye process they used. I ask because I was the “local car shop”. And do hand stitched leather interiors. Do I need to hunt for a particular leather provider?

Anyone can recover it, as long as they use material that has burn certs, check with some of the local car shops.

My 1966 Alon's seats have started to give up at the seams so I'm starting to look around to get the seats recovered. I've been quoted $1800 for this, but don't know if that's low, high, or right in the ballpark.
Any suggestions on how to get my seats recovered are appreciated!
