We printed a picture in the Coupe Capers if the quadrants, but I can’t remember when. I think most planes have had the Quadrant replaced.

control quadrant AD was created by William Stilley

AD 54-26-02 requires removing and inspecting the quadrant control cables for broken strands every hundred hours, unless you have an approved quadrant (met-co-aire 514 rev A or Erco 152137. My coupe sn 4742 has the met-co-air part and my other coupe sn 5077 has the Erco 152137. Both are original factory installed parts, so I think Erco knew about the problem and fixed it on later production aircraft but did not document it, although someone later updated the part number in the parts manual. Complying with the AD is not easy with the fuel tank and instrument panel in place. I think most log book entries are just pencil whipped or at best felt for broken strands by hand, but that does not comply with the AD.
