Went to go check in on the plane the other day (yes it's still undergoing maintenance and upgrades), and my A&P is currently finishing up the extended baggage STC. This whole thing was a bit of a calculated risk for me, but I was finally able to test whether or not my wheelchair would fit behind the seat, luckily it did! It takes some tetris-ing to get it in and out of there, but the important thing is it fits.

Funny how things work out - I actually flew my first solo at KCGE in Cambridge. My home airport (W29 on Kent Island) was closed for runway resurfacing and although the flight school temporarily relocated to a nearby airpark, their insurance didn't allow student solo using the airpark's short grass strip.

I'll ask around and see if anyone knows an avionics tech who works in that area. That information could come in handy for both of us.

Whether it's sooner or later, let me know when your plane's ready to fly out of Cambridge. maybe I can check it out before you take it home to VA.

Hey Eric! I'm in MD and also restoring an Ercoupe which I hope to be flying this spring. I can ask around about an avionics installer (my A&P has been around for a while knows a lot of people) but if you don't mind me asking, in what area is your plane based now? A lot of these guys seem to travel around in specific areas. I ran into this with aircraft weighing and transponder certifications - the best deals were from "that guy who comes through here and does everyone's plane" but the trick for a newbie is... finding that guy!

Appreciate the insight. Definitely will move shoulder harnesses higher on the list, but I think it probably needs to be done after the baggage compartment stuff, right?

Will look into the Alpha battery relay, wasn't aware of it.
