Thanks John! It was the magnetos, and I was able to get them fixed. Now they work like a charm!!

Hi George:
The mags are Eiseman, a very old and original magneto manufacturer in the USA.
Still a good mag if you can get parts for them on overhaul.
Slick is a very current manufacturer.
Bendix - a good mag but dated and expensive for parts.
Are you absolutely positive that ignition is limiting the engine to 1800 ?
Is the timing correct ?
Sounds more like a carb. problem.
Is the engine smooth at 1800 or very rough running ?
Just some thoughts.

Magnetos Needed was created by George Sellers
Our 1946 415-C is in need of magnetos! The current mags on the C 75-12-F are the original Eisenars (spelling), and they are giving our engine a fit at this time. The engine will not develop full power (it will only get to 1800 rpm) and the mechanic says it is time to replace them. So, we need a couple of either Bendix or Slick mags with the wiring harnesses. I understand that there is some sort of gear need too since the current mags are the Eisenars. Any other suggestions? Please let m know if you know of any.

Thanks--George
