I thought the glare shield was the little shelf on top of the panel, similar to the top of a car’s dashboard. AirTex makes really nice carpet glare shield covers that fit perfectly. They call the Ercoupe part a cowl pad. For newer planes they called it a glare shield cover, and they are vinyl. Made my old beat up one look nice! These are permanently installed.
