Just purchased mine, haven't seen it yet. N# is NC99902, on the N# lookup registry it says manufactured 1946, but then it says A/W is listed as August of 1955. Why the break between when it was manufactured and when the airworthiness was issued? Is this when NACA became the FAA and a new paperwork dynasty was created?

N415GP would be the equivalent of an automobile vanity plate and has been reregistered somewhere along the way. It wouldn’t have come from the factory that way.

My 'Coupe, #273, came off the line on Jan 16, '46 - NC87100. They vary a lot.
