Turns out even these Becker ATR 500s are a little too deep for the upper part of the panel. We are locating the radios at the bottom of the panel to maximize space behind them. We are almost finished with the panel overhaul, I'll send photos when complete.

Ron,
I think the $400 - $600 range for used ATR 500 radios is typical.

Ron,
I don't see a photo or anything attached to your posting.  It is the Becker ATR 500 Radio.  Photo attached.

Tim, Is this the Becker radio you were speaking about on the Zoom Meeting tonight. I see quite a few of these on Ebay from Europe. They are all in the $400 to $500 range. I am so new at this I can get boon doggled in a heart beat. I like the example of your new panel. I am trying to keep the 'Old' look and function with the steam look, but a new functioning radio fits into my plan. Thanks Ron

Tim,
As far as radios go look into the Trig 92 radio. The main unit can be located anywhere ( mine is attached to the underside of the hat shelf) and the head unit is short (about 2”) and it is a small 2.5” diameter.  Mine works very well. Light and compact.  All you’ll need.  They also have a matching transponder head.
